The quarterfinal draw pairs Liverpool with Bournemouth and holders Manchester City with third-tier Bradford City. Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards to miss up to two months after knee procedure
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will have an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee that will keep him out for up to two months, according to reports. The team chose to deal with the problem early in the hope that he returns in December. Edwards had scored 47 points in an overtime loss to Cleveland on Monday, and he also had right knee problems late last season.
Rays beat Brewers in 12 innings to avoid World Series sweep
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in 12 innings in Game 4 of the World Series at Tropicana Field, forcing a Game 5. Brewers rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt hit a solo home run in the top of the 12th. The Rays answered in the bottom half, helped by a Milwaukee error, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson's chopper into right field drove in the winning run.
Only one team before them had won on a walk-off while facing a World Series sweep: the 1910 Cubs.
